Freshly baked in our kitchen, we always bake to order and never bake ahead and freeze.

The only trouble you’ll have now is choosing!

We encourage our clients to have a different flavour on each tier of their wedding cake. This provides you and your guests with a wonderful choice of flavours when the wedding cake is served.

We do use alcohol in some of our recipes, but this can be omitted / substituted, if required.


Luxury Wedding Cake Sample Tasting Box

Our delicious box of wedding cake flavour tasting samples is such a treat and a lovely wedding prep experience to share at home.

The cake box will consist of at 6 generous portions of different flavours of sponge along with a full menu booklet of all the wedding cake flavours we offer. We charge £95 for these, which includes Special Next Day Delivery and packaging (UK deliveries only).

INITIAL DISCUSSIONS:  Prior to booking, we like to have a quick discussion on the phone or in person, so that we can find out more about your wedding plans and be able to give you an idea of pricing and how we work. We won’t be finalising the design at this stage as this is done during our Detailed Design Consultation. These are usually held about 4-6 months before your wedding.

DETAILED WEDDING CAKE DESIGN CONSULTATIONS:  I hold these by video call a few months before your wedding, and they take about an hour usually. At this stage, we can get into the details about other aspects of your wedding (floristry, décor, wedding attire, colour schemes, stationery design, etc) and they help me design a cake which perfectly fits with your day.

MEET US AT A SHOW:  Come and visit us at a wedding show or venue open day. It’s a great way to view a selection of our current designs on display in person and taste some delicious sample cakes. The list of our upcoming shows is on the 'Wedding Shows' page.


Cake Stand Hire

We have some beautiful cake stands and plinths which are available to hire to compliment your wedding cake.


Wedding Cake Orders

In order to secure the date for your wedding and avoid disappointment, we recommend booking us as soon as you have booked your venue.  By just paying a small booking fee, you can then rest assured that the date is yours.

2025 & 2026 WEDDINGS:  Our diary is now open for bookings for weddings in 2025 and 2026.


By commissioning a wedding cake from us, you're investing in a work of bespoke art; a unique wedding cake expertly and lovingly designed and created especially for your event.

We have a minimum order value of £850 for weddings. The final price will depend on the size of the cake and the complexity of the design.

Booking & Payment Terms

Wedding Cakes:
£300 booking fee is required on all wedding orders which then secures your date. The booking fee is then deducted from your final balance, which will be due in full three months before your wedding day.  All payments, once made, are non-refundable.  Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for full details.

Other Orders:
50% booking fee required, with full payment due a month before delivery / collection.  If an order is placed less than a month before the required date, then full payment will be due at the time of ordering.

We would prefer payment by bank transfer.  Please ask us for our bank account details, or you can find them on your invoice.

Wedding Cake Delivery

Deliveries are charged at £1 per mile, charged as a return trip, and there is a standard base charge of £65 for any delivery. For long distance deliveries there may also be a charge for time.


Allergens

 

Nuts : We do use nuts in some of our recipes so, unfortunately, we can’t guarantee any of our products to be completely without traces of nuts.

Gluten-Free : We do make gluten-free cakes so please do let us know if that’s an option you require.

Allergen Listing on the Day : Your venue will be provided with a very detailed sheet about your wedding cake which we run through with them on delivery. It will have instructions as to what should be done with the sugar flowers, cake stand on hire, etc, and full ingredients listings for each different flavour with allergens clearly highlighted.


Ingredients, Quality & Hygiene

All our ingredients are the finest and the freshest:  We only use organic butter and flour; Clarence Court free-range or Riverford Organic eggs; fairtrade, top quality sugars and natural extracts (never essences or artificial flavourings).  There’s fresh Amalfi lemon zest and Italian limoncello in our lemon sponge, seeds of premium Madagascan vanilla pods in our vanilla sponge and anything that contains chocolate will only be from organic single-estate chocolate from Pump Street Chocolate from my home town in Suffolk.  As for jams and curds, we use Bonne Maman, Duchy Originals, and often make our own when the fruit is in season.

We have passed the Level 2 Food Hygiene with top marks and we’re proud to say that Colchester City Council’s food hygiene department has awarded us with the top score of 5 for ‘Scores on the Doors’ every time they’ve visited for an inspection. You’ll find us listed on the Food Standards Agency website.
